Eloise's first marathon (marathon by the sea)

On Saturday august 9 Eloise got to participate in her first kid’s marathon. The run was held at lily lake  in Saint John, New Brunswick.  The name of the run she did is Marathon by the Sea. This year was the 20 anniversary.  This was a great year to start a new tradition. My Aunt runs the adult marathon by the sea every year so we figured it would be fun for the kids to try.           .

When we first got to Lily Lake we had to go to a big white tent to get Eloise’s number and her t shirt. They also gave out a goody bag with a bubble pen a cereal bar and their medal for the kid to get at the end of the race. After we were signed in we went to show Eloise the start and finish line and get a photo of her before with her shirt and number one she was so excited to be there. We still had a half hour before the race started so we took her to another tent where they were making balloon animals for the kids Eloise got  a pink monkey in a tree she was so ecstatic to have a balloon animal.  There was a few tables set up with wheels you could spin and win prizes Eloise got a bag and Brayden got a t shirt besides a change purse and new water bottle.

Right before the race started at 11 they had a warm up and stretch with an instructor for the kids which we thought was a great idea. Then the kids lined up all the little kids that were only doing the 200 meter race lined up first. She was so happy to be running with all the other kids.  Eloise was so excited she was paying more attention to everyone around her starting to run her daddy had to encourage her to start to run. Once she started to run she was in her glory the smile on her face was priceless and so delightful to see. Eloise did awesome she ran 190 meters then had her daddy carry her  the rest of the way to the finish line. I am very proud of her as she ran the race with Brayden her cousin and daddy by her side.
